Lissie and Bill’s Visit to Ramana’s Garden in August 2009

To see a child’s hands swirl finger paints for the first time, to see a child’s eyes light up with his first playing of a harmonica, these were the blessings Bill and I received on our visit to Ramana’s Garden. It was an adventure transporting bags full of donated musical instruments, clothing, and art materials provided by the generosity of friends here in America, and I only wish our photos could convey the full expression of the children’s excitement and joy at these gifts. Percussion instruments such as xylophones, drums, shakers, became a nightly feature at the children’s satsangs as Bill and I shared with them music of all kinds from American folk songs to Sanskrit chants. The happiness of this family of children is a remarkable tribute to Prabha’s dedication, and we were so fortunate to be able to visit with them and share their hopes for the future.
